We bioprinted centimeter-scale skeletal muscle tissue, complete with a microchannel network that imitates muscle microvasculature and seamlessly integrates with perfusable synthetic components that are necessary to let the tissue mature under mechanical tension. This design was realized with one efficient biomanufacturing process and allowed us to examine the impact of vessel-like channels on drug distribution within 3D tissue models.
