Leaving Pakistan is tough but its a decision that alot of us take!

In my childhood, my father used to take me on a special journey during the winter season. Keenjhar Lake, situated approximately 120 kilometers away from Karachi in the Thatta district, truly brought me immense tranquility as it is extraordinarily beautiful. However, the real reason for this journey was not just its beauty but the presence of Siberian birds. The purpose was not hunting; instead, it was to search for them through binoculars and witness their presence.

These birds always fascinated me. Every year, they cover thousands of kilometers, crossing from Siberia to reach their destination. I used to ask my father why these birds embark on such a long journey. His response was always simple: "Survival," meaning life.

Changing circumstances, weather conditions, and the quest for food force these birds to leave their nests. This compels them to undertake a lengthy journey each year. "No one leaves their home willingly," my father would always say.

At this stage of my life, when I reflect on these birds, I feel that humans are much like them. When the country's conditions deteriorate, with unemployment, injustice, and hopelessness prevailing everywhere, individuals are compelled to leave, whether for themselves or for the sake of their families, much like these migrating birds leaving their nests.

Similar to these birds, many times, we too have to embark on a long journey for a better future. And this journey is not easy; it involves starting everything from scratch, staying away from loved ones. But with time and hard work, everything eventually falls into place. A good home, a good life—everything is achieved. Yet, the yearning for home always remains in the heart.

These birds exhibit a behavior called "site fidelity." After spending some time away, when they sense that home conditions are better and happier, they turn back towards their nests. Even if they have traveled far, they eventually return home. This nest holds a special place for them.

My prayer is that the conditions in our country improve soon—employment opportunities increase, justice prevails, and those who leave Pakistan in large numbers every year, like these birds, return home one day. Because no one truly leaves their home willingly.
