Fan animation for that dystopian novel we all know and love (or resent), written by a guy who never received as much recognition as Orwell but still dissed him nonetheless. Despite its grisly themes, I absolutely loved this book for the characters and its unique depiction of a dystopia that isn't so typically violence-centric. Shoutout to my twelfth grade English teacher, Mr. T, and every (ex) high schooler who had to read this book too. Even if you've never heard of the book or the 2020 TV series, I would really appreciate if you gave this a view! It's the longest, most ambitious project I've ever created, started in August 2020 and finished just last night for a total 5-6 weeks of work. I've always wanted to make a full animated short film showcasing the best of my abilities, and this is like my personal thesis film to wrap up 2020 and enter 2021.

While I've heard good things about the acting and the visuals of the Peacock series, everything about the show seems to have skipped over all the original messages and motifs – while dodging some good opportunities for other representation that would have worked much better with the source material. Nonetheless, Brave New World (2020) appears to be much more enjoyed by people who didn't read the book, or don't watch it as an adaptation. For that reason it should have completely divorced itself from the novel in the first place, to pursue entirely new themes with its original potential.

My good friend believes that Brave New World should have been a movie instead. If I was in charge of a 2020 reboot for Brave New World... I would make it a remake of Bridesmaids (2011)! Seriously, if you swap some characters around, there are way too many scenes that could fit hilariously into the book canon. This scene is one of them.

Any resemblances to Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig are purely coincidental.
