Since their formation in Los Angeles, Dengue Fever has been more than a band; has been a cultural bridge between traditional Cambodian sounds and global musical influences. With the voice of Chhom Nimol, one of the most important artists of contemporary Cambodian music, the group has dedicated its career to rescuing and reinterpreting Cambodian rock from the 60s and 70s, when the youth of Phnom Penh fused the sound of electric guitar with native rhythms and western pop melodies. However, Dengue Fever's proposal is not limited to nostalgia: since its beginnings, they have sought to expand the reach of this music through original compositions, fusing genres such as psychedelia, surf rock, African funk, and the influences of film music, always preserving the Cambodian cultural essence that defines them.

In 2023, celebrating their twentieth anniversary, Dengue Fever released Ting Mong, their most cohesive and deeply introspective album to date. This new musical essence came after eight years of waiting since their last work, These Deepest Lake. It offered a more mature and serene sound, the result of a long process of experimentation and collaboration. Far from the stridency and noise that one might expect from a return after so long, Ting Mong is oriented towards calm, subtlety, and introspection, offering an immersive sound experience that invites reflection and mental rest. The band, true to its unique aesthetic, immerses itself in desert landscapes and electronic elements, creating an atmosphere of purity that moves away from common expectations, seeking to offer a sonic refuge during hectic times.
