In Part 72, we will continue working on the brands module. In this video, we are going to add brand select box for Add/Edit Products.

1) Add the brand_id column in the products table (with Migration)
First of all, we will update the products table with the brand_id column with the help of the update migration command.

We will run the below command to create an update migration file like add_column_to_products in which we will add column brand_id after section_id.

php artisan make:migration add_column_to_products

Now we will run the below command to make the required changes in the products table:-
php artisan migrate

You can check the brand_id column added after the section_id column in the products table.

2) Update addEditProduct function :-
Now we will update the addEditProduct function to get all active brands and return to the add_edit_product.blade.php file.

3) Update add_edit_product.blade.php file :-
Now update the add_edit_product.blade.php file to add brands select box after category selection in which we will show all active brands and we will make this field mandatory.

4) Update addEditProduct function :-
Update the addEditProduct function once again to update the query to save the brand_id in the products table.

Now you can add/update the brand for every product.
