"I mean, on Tuesday evening, they had to give their cell phone, their laptop, and tablet. It's put in a bag with their name. So they enter like in a sort of a retreat. So in the rooms, there's no TV screen, so no connection with the external world. I mean trying to prevent from interferences, no? From the pressures. But also because of underlining, You know, this tone, this atmosphere, an attitude of prayer. Obviously, they can engage, you know in conversation with each other, but yeah, the silence, like a retreat from the world and from, yeah, reading the news or making calls or sending messages, they cannot do it, but because they don't have the instruments."

"Yes, it's very important that the artistic program of the Sistine Chapel is very powerful. So every cardinal with his ballot approaches the urn and he sees the first thing that he sees is just Jesus Christ and that presiding, The Last Judgment (Michelangelo’s masterpiece). Like a call not to fear, but a call to responsibility, to accountability. So they are saying that they are choosing the person that they think is more prepared and that the church needs in this very moment. So I think it's this call to responsibility is very much present in the entire room that they are staying for a good number of hours. And they are dressing in their choral habit in this red. That means that they are direct successors of the Apostles and the Apostles are called to give their life for the church and for Jesus. So that's what the red symbolizes, is the color of the apostles, but giving your blood. So I think it's, all these gestures are, I think they're very much present. You must understand that the conclave is a big act of prayer. Obviously, politics and spirituality are intertwined, but they (the cardinals) have very much present this responsibility, I think."
