We are pleased to be hosting an exclusive book signing with local author Allyson Rice for the release of her debut novel “The Key to Circus-Mom Highway.” On Saturday, January 14 from 4-5:30 pm, Allyson Rice will be at the Peninsula Gallery to discuss her book, read an excerpt, and sign copies for patrons.

In an attempt to secure an unexpected inheritance — and hopefully find a few answers — two estranged sisters and their newly discovered brother embark on a comically surreal trip through the Deep South to retrace the life of the mother who abandoned them. This uproarious debut novel is a reminder that sometimes, the family you’d never have chosen may turn out to be exactly what you need.

We sat down with Allyson to discuss her book and how it came to be.

A reception will be held on Saturday, January 14, from 4-5:30 pm at Peninsula Gallery to celebrate the release of Rice’s “The Key to Circus-Mom Highway.” Rice will read an extract from the novel at 4:30, followed by a book signing. “The Key to Circus-Mom Highway” by Allyson Rice was released on January 3, 2023 by The Total Human Press. The novel is for purchase at all major booksellers and is available in paperback, e-book, and audiobook formats.

The gallery is located in the Shoppes at the Beacon Inn, 520 East Savannah Rd. Lewes, DE, and is open Tue-Sat, 10-5, and Sun 11-3.
