Lake Powell Jewel of the Colorado is a film produced by the Bureau of Reclamation. The Bureau of Reclamation released this documentary film in 1965 about the history of the Glen Canyon Dam's construction. It displays the way Americans will be using its water, power, and recreational opportunities.

This film was made as a direct response to the Sierra Club’s book "The Place No One Knew" by Eliot Porter. The book was about the drowning of Glen Canyon and its side canyons. Floyd Dominy, the former commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation from May 1, 1959, to December 1, 1969, published a 30 page promotional brochure and this film celebrating the reservoir that replaced Glen Canyon.
