This video is in the Great Engine Games series! At an early stage, Leela accepts doubled pawns for an open g-file and to avoid wasting time moving its bishop twice. Time to attack? Not for Leela! Leela plays very deliberately, investing its tempi in securing more space on the kingside and holding back permanently any Black queenside play. Leela then follows up with a Karpovian Nb1 to shore up its centre with c4 and forestall any Black hopes of counterplay! A really nice positional squeeze, typical of Leela!
