Using an internal floppy disk drive with a motherboard lacking an onboard controller

Описание к видео Using an internal floppy disk drive with a motherboard lacking an onboard controller

In this video, I'll show you how you can adapt an internal floppy disk drive to work via USB on a modern PC motherboard lacking the traditional FDD controller. I use a USB to FDD adapter card which provides the traditional interface as well as power for the floppy drive. One of my biggest complaints about this product is that it comes wired with an external USB cable, which you must desolder and replace with an internal USB cable, or use an adapter. You may still have to get out the soldering iron as some of these seem to have very poor quality soldering on the USB connection.
