A basic comparison of my Fender Stratocaster through a Fender Blues Deluxe with external cabinet vs some common amp modelling software. Amp sims include Overloud THU (Slate version), Scuffham S-Gear, Native Instruments Guitar Rig 5, and MOTU Digital Performer's included amp sim.

In a previous video here    • Chris McIntyre covers "Into The Mystic" an...   , I recorded a couple cover tunes using simple voice and guitar arrangements. I originally recorded the electric guitar direct, and re-amped it the next day. Some asked me to compare the real amps vs sims I had, which is the topic of this video. This video is not an in depth product review of each sim, but rather a quick comparison of clean tones from similar style amps to my real amp. I was not worried about trying to exactly replicate my amps tone with a sim, I just wanted to see how well the sims compared to a real amp. The question I was looking to answer was though the sims may sound different, were they still useable and did they compare favourably to a real amp/mic setup. Though I used 2 amps in my real setup, for the comparisons I only compare the Fender Blues Deluxe to the sims.
