As a continuation of my previous series, we will dive into the larger and more interesting parts of Anglo-Saxon England in a new kingdom, Mercia. A war-torn and very cornered Kingdom that stands as a symbol of defiance against all odds. Mercia was one of the largest and most powerful Kingdoms in England, but by 900 A.D. it had all but been absorbed by Wessex.
However, in this series, we will focus on the growth of a Chester, a repurposed Roman Castrum (Fortress) and it's future as a thriving town.
