I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It's a pretty cool sci-fi procedurally generated Zelda-like. The whole world is generated when you type in 6 letters to generate your world, so if you found something you like you can share it with others. Pretty neat. There's a wild story going on. You crash land on a planet and have to locate your teammates. Along the way you discover a cool world that at one point had sentient life and another intelligent species. It gets pretty wild. The easiest comparison for this game that I can make is Lenna's Inception which is also a procedurally generated game. That one just seemingly piles garbage every where as an impediment. Songbringer does a much better job of creating its world, like A lot of these Zelda-likes just about every screen is housing some sort of secret. There are quite a few dungeons and bosses as well. The checkpoints are super forgiving, so walking back to bosses is not so bad. Most of the dungeons open up a shortcut so you have an easy route back in case you die. There are tons of hidden paths and secrets in them as well. You can even get an item that helps you hunt secrets down. I am not sure if thie secrets you find affects the ending at all, or if there are multiple endings at all. There are some secret things you collect, but the game never indicates whether or not they have any purpose other than some lore. There are some biblical references as well to angels and I have no idea how that relates to the story, but it sounds neat. The game controls fine and you get some cool power-ups that make combat pretty fun. Like upgrading your dash and your robot friend. The real downside is the music. It does not sound as though someone sat down and created music, it actually sounds procedurally generated as well. It's honestly awful and my least favorite part of the game. Overall, I had a fun time with this one. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
