We may think we’re in control of our technology but the FT’s Rana Foroohar believes it may be controlling us. A recent study found that 4 in 10 Americans are suffering from addictive behaviour linked to their phones. Smartphone apps, for instance, are easy to open, but not so easy to shut down. But some tech companies are starting to see a business opportunity in giving back control to users.
