There's something about Daddy Teacha's stage presence that I find so appealing…He has just about the friendliest smile of any performer I've ever seen down in Jamaica…Just watching him you can see the pure joy he is having…I find it very contagious! Did you know Daddy Teacha ranks as one of the UK's pioneer 'Nu Roots' vocalists?
Starting out in the UK in the late 1970's and early 80's he cemented his reputation by recording with seminal Dub outfit Alpha & Omega. In the early 1990's, Teacha earned 'Time Out' magazines comparison with early Black Uruhu. By voicing an A&O riddim and creating 'David and Goliath' (A&O- Everyday Life LP), together they established a UK Roots and Dub classic, and since recorded a series of other works and subsequent releases.
Teacha's extensive international performances have seen him on stage in Montego Bay and Negril (Jamaica), the Canary Islands, Canada, Mexico, Poland, Sweden, France and Germany.
Teacha has performed alongside/supported many highly acclaimed reggae acts, such as:
The Mighty Diamonds, The Abyssinians, Julian Marley, Sly and Robbie,Mad Professor, Gentleman, Pato Banton, Aswad, John Mclean, UK Apache, Sugar Minott,The Heptones, Desmond Decker, Burning Spear, Macka B, Alpha & Omega,The Rooticals, The Di Iries, Iration Steppas, Don Letts, and the Disciples to name but a few.
