Filmed when I started recording The Colour of Grey after sending the first initial demos to JJ Drums (Venom Kiss & Chained Embrace)... this video was recorded to show the early stage drum routing and FX for the rendered audio file long time music collaborator JJ sent me. I'm not sure how he did it but I suspect he played on his electronic kit but could have programmed midi also... he uses a lot of techniques in the early stage to get ideas down and its actually a lot of fun listening to his drum ideas. My favourite part is when he plays two different parts and renders our an A or B option of the same section. We didn't end up fully working together on this project because other things came up for JJ and my mission was to get this record complete in 4 months but his influence is always there because of all the times we have jammed together, I feel like his style has imprinted on me. I have cleaned up and refined my template since as I'm prepping for a new template to carry into my 2026 record so I'm likely to upload a new video that shows how I'm doing things now.
