This is one of those super simple ways to make currency in trade league, and is useful within limits in SSF.

Step 1: Source a Stygian Vise, i86+, that isn't very good (i.e. you are OK with rolling over it)

Step 2: Conqueror exalt it with a non-Hunter conqueror exalt

Step 3: Spend 1000 blue lifeforce to 'influence shift'

Chance to hit a good roll (Shaper, Elder or Hunter): 60% at each attempt of Step 3 (3 'wins' out of 5 possible outcomes). If you don't hit a good roll, repeat Step 3.

SSF only: Chance to hit a good roll is lower, probably 20%, as you are looking for something that's perfect for you (getting something that's perfect for someone else's build is of little use)

If you hit a good roll, that's either your starting point for further crafting (scour and catalyze then use various methods), or you can just attempt to sell it.
