Nicci Triefenbach (inset), 32, from St Louis, Missouri, was left feeling like a 'circus freak' after being told she had a duplicate reproductive system. It caused her endless misery, from constant pain in her teenage years to being chased by men who thought the idea of sleeping with her was a novelty. After eventually finding love in her husband Andy (main), she was left suicidal after her desperate attempts to start a family were scarred by three miscarriages. She then decided to have surgery in the form of a hysterectomy four months ago to try and improve her quality of life. Despite knowing they will never have their own children together, the couple are hoping to adopt in the future.
