We begin in Lakeport, California and head west on California Route 175. This highway passes through the Mayacamas Mountains on its way to the town of Hopland. There is a definite summit on this road that is known locally as Hopland Pass. However, I was not able to find any definitive information regarding the exact elevation of this summit. In any case, this is a very steep and winding road that is a challenge to drive.

Once we get to Hopland, we head south on US 101 until we reach the town of Geyserville. We end the main part of our drive after passing through this picturesque town.

A few days earlier we had taken Route 175 east over the same mountains just after a rain and snow storm. This additional drive is shown at the end of the video.
