Photograph Lightning - The Easy Way

This week I'll show you how I photograph lightning. We don't get that much lightning here, but when we do I always try to go out and get a photograph of it...if you know how to set up your camera, you can increase your chances of grabbing a few lightning bolts in your frame!!

White Balance!!
I forgot to mention white balance...if you shoot in RAW you can set this afterwards...if not you want to set it to about 3000 to 4000 kelvin. Most cameras have a manual white balance option. If you're not sure about white balance, check this video out:    • White Balance in about a minute

Here in Dubai, we had a lightning storm last week and I was able to grab a couple of shots I'm happy with. Makes me wish I lived somewhere that gets storms constantly so I could photograph storms and lightning more often!!
