I go to this river quite often. There are a few hidden treasures nobody knows about. Or maybe locals only. If you walk past the old boat ramp there’s a trail through the woods. With a short walk down a dirt path you will see a know name spring first. Walk a little further and it will take you to Johnson Springs. Great place to put a tube in and float back to Rum Island / Rum Springs. Also on the other side of the rope at the Rum Springs. There is another no name spring head. Depending on how high the Santa Fe River is this spring may or may not be clear. Always a great place to go kayaking or fishing.
