After my father died, I wanted to write something for him. Something to remember him by and something that let me say some of the things that were left unsaid. The song was written some time ago and is the first one I wrote in my own central belt Scots tongue. It's on my first solo record DOWNDIE. A Downdie is a person born in Whitburn, West Lothian.

I still miss my faither. Sometimes I dream about him. I hope I can be half the father that he was. Sam.
