We are excited to share this video featuring an eHaus Euro that is being built in the Pohangina Valley by eHaus Manawatu.

This is right before the Gib was due to go up. You can see first hand just how much work goes into the walls and ventilation, plus a closer look at what makes the windows in an eHaus so exceptional.

For this particular build, the clients have opted for uPVC windows. The uPVC ENERGATE® 843 window system produces the best heat insulation values as well as exceptional air tightness. They’re extremely durable, are particularly resistant to weather influences, and have UV stabilisers integrated which prevents the colour from fading. Affordable, high-performing and low maintenance - what more could you want?

The PHPP - the Passive House Planning Package - prepares an energy balance and calculates the annual energy demand of the building based on the user input relating to the building's characteristics. Without a PHPP, the principles that make a home passive (insulation, heat recovery ventilation, thermal bridge-free design, and airtightness) can’t be measured or proven. In other words: you won’t know how the building will perform!

And if we still have your attention at this point, this home produced a stunning air tightness test result of 0.3ACHn50 (0.3 air changes per hour at a test pressure of 50 pascal). What does this mean? Compared to a brand new code built house it is at least 15 times better and compared to a villa 100 times better. eHaus ensures draughty homes are a thing of the past.
