Suburban Hospital held an opening ceremony for its new north building Jan. 24. 

Patients are expected to move into the building the second week of March, with operations and surgeries to begin in the third week of March. 

The hospital serves as a trauma center, stroke center, and surgeons can perform open-heart surgeries. Operations like those don't exist at every community hospital, and it's part of what makes Suburban Hospital unique, said President of the Johns Hopkins Health System Kevin Sowers. 

Sowers said the relationships patients form with physicians, nurses, housekeepers and all employees at the hospital are what makes their experiences so memorable.
