The 'Z' reverse or Zig Zag or Switchback is one of the way in which the train goes forward, changes line, reverses and moves forward in a 'Z' format in order to gain altitude in difficult terrain of the Himalayan foothill. In this video the New Jalpaiguri - Darheeling Passenger Train is seen taking the 'Z' reverse no.3 near Tindaria, West Bengal. There is a series of 'Z' reverse on the New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling line are found near Tindharia, West Bengal. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, which is other wise referred to as Darjeeling Toy Train have most number of services between Darjeeling and Ghum and couple of Tourist specials from Kurseong as well. But just one daily train runs between New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling.
