Hello, neighbor. This is Curt with etrailer. And today, we're gonna take a look at these universal towing mirrors from K Source and see how they interact with our 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. Now if you've got questions about these mirrors or maybe you decided to purchase them and you've got some experiences to share, go ahead and leave those in the comments below. We'd love to share your stories with our other neighbors in order to help them make the best decision for themselves. Now, if you've been towing a little bit with your Pathfinder, maybe it's a small utility trailer, a flatbed, a camper, something like that, you may find yourself having some difficulty, you know, being able to see around everything with just your standard factory mirrors.
A set of universal towing mirrors is an inexpensive way to really be able to help you tow safely by gripping around the mirror and being able to be removed later. Now, this particular set here is put on by some kind of elasticy rubber straps, so they're stretched around it really good and tight. It has these arms that can shift different directions and really let you mount this however the shape of the mirror goes, which is what makes them universal. And the mirror can oscillate as well, so you can move this around and adjust it. You can even turn it vertically if that's your preference.
Now the one thing about how it fits on here, it did take some adjustability on these straps to really kind of, you had to take 'em off, put 'em on tighter, put 'em back on. So installation was a little bit of a pain in that regard, but once you've actually got it set, you shouldn't really have to change it again. Like I said, they do have some elasticity to it, so you should be able to remove these off of here fairly easy. Now let's take a look and see what this does for you from the driver position. So here's what you're gonna see out of your vehicle factory mirror.
You're gonna get the side of the trailer, but you're really not gonna be able to see far enough back to see what's behind it, if you needed to back it up, or if you needed to see kind of, you know, the length of the blind spot that you need to get into to get over a lane. This is what we'll be seeing out of the towing mirror. So we're gonna be able to get a much wider range of view and we'll be able to see those blind spots a lot better, and we'll be able to see toward the back of the trailer as well when we need to back it up. So, in conclusion, this would be an excellent way to be able to travel safely with your trailer, being able to see all around you and everything else. The one downside to it, on the Pathfinders, because of that kind of aggressive taper it has, these straps, while they're holding on really well now, I'd be willing to bet if I grabbed these and just wanted to pull 'em right off they would come.
So my suggestion with this particular set of mirrors would be for, you know, shorter trips to and from. It's probably not something I would take on a long highway trip or somewhere off road where you're just gonna get an awful lot of vibration. My fear is that that'll gradually start to slip as you go. But for those shorter trips, you know, 15, 20 minutes across town with a little utility trailer or something, I think these would be great for you. I'm Curt with etrailer. Thanks for stopping by.
