Sherman, TX — May 25, 2024: Authorities said Alice Jones and two other people were injured in a car accident reported just after 9:00 p.m. along the Sam Rayburn Freeway service road. According to officials, Jones, age 80, was traveling eastbound in a Cadillac DeVille on Lamberth Road at the southbound service road intersection when the collision occurred. Reports indicate the intersection is controlled by a traffic signal, and a crash took place between the front-left portion of the Cadillac and the front-right side of a southbound Ford F-150 occupied by a 19-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman. Authorities stated that conflicting statements have left it unclear which vehicle had the right-of-way at the time of the collision. Jones reportedly sustained serious injuries, while the two occupants of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. Additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash have not been released. The incident remains under investigation.
