Hi guys, my name is Aaron Hilton. I'm a Senior Project Developer here at GEM Energy and today I am here to talk to you about the new GEN 24, the soon to be released hybrid inverter that we are all very excited about.

People are familiar with the typical Fronius design, form and shape. One of the benefits of the changed shape is that behind this fascia is a massive heat sync and large fan. So what that does is allows the inverter to work at maximum capacity and very efficiently in high temperatures which is very prominent here in Australia.

One of the other features includes the inverter no longer having a screen. The screen can be a bit of an issue. Getting direct sunlight on the LCD overtime, the screen can actually fail overtime. They’re not really designed to be exposed to the harsh conditions and direct sunlight. You can access all of the features that you need through the solar web portal on your smartphone, tablet or computer. As long as it is connected to Wifi or plugged in to your internet service.

Another really interesting feature about this inverter, it is very unique and we are all very excited about is the PV point. Now say the grid went down, you’ve got one powerpoint that would then actually become energised. How that works is if the solar and inverter has the ability to produce power so it is day time, you would be able to get power out of that powerpoint. Of course it does have its limits, it is based on how much production you have. But it would essentially allow you to charge your phone, power your computer or perhaps put energy into a fridge or freezer, charge the laptop and get an update on a weather report or what not. So traditionally most inverters or all of the inverters I know, don’t have that feature built in. The multiflow technology with this inverter which means that it can actually power the house while charging the battery at the same time.

That is the BYD HVS 10.2 battery. BYD are a very respectable battery manufacturer and they’ve been around for a very long time so I’m confident that is going to be a great solution for me and my family. And this battery has the ability to output up to 9kW. I’ve got a 10kW hybrid inverter, 3-phase, 3kW per phase capacity out of the battery. Having that much power available from the battery in a peak scenario means I can actually back up my whole house and it has the capacity to do that in a backup power situation.

The GEN 24 comes with quick release screens, push in spring terminal and a straightforward wall mount. It’s very easy to install, intuitive and well designed and definitely has the installers in mind. I think our installers are going to be very happy with this inverter makes their life easier.

GEM Energy have been working with Fronius for a long time. We’re pleased with their technical support and we’re pleased with the inverter itself and its reliability. Any time we have had an issue, Fronius has been exceptionally helpful.

We are Fronius Solutions Part Plus members which means we’ve had to go through quite a lengthy process and it shows that Fronius is comfortable with our capability and knowledge of this inverter, we understand it well and how it operates.

In summary if you’re looking for a battery ready inverter that is gonna stand the test of time and give you all of the best features available, then I don’t think you can go past the GEN 24. We are very pleased to have been a part of the research and development of the Fronius GEN 24, we’ve learnt a lot about it in this stage and we think this inverter is going to go very well. I think the market is going to be very pleased with this inverter. And we think a lot of people are going to have a great outcome with this inverter, we can’t wait.
