Air Pollution Lesson Series - Lesson 07B: Reflecting Hazardous Area

In this 10-minute video, Professor John Cimbala continues discussing the Gaussian plume model. In this lesson he shows how to calculate the hazardous zone (or hazardous area) downwind of a plume under conditions in which the ground reflects rather than absorbs, the air pollutant. He does this by setting the mass concentration to a hazardous level and solving for the range of horizontal locations where plume concentration exceeds this level, doing an example problem to illustrate.
