In this video I will show you how to cook ilish bhapa bengali recipe

Ingredients:
Ilish mach – 4 ps

For marination of fish –
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Mustard oil – 1tsp
Little salt

Making paste -
Black mustard seed - ½ tbsp
Yellow mustard seed - ½ tbsp
Poppy seed - ½ tbsp
Sugar - ½ tsp
Salt as required
Grated coconut - ½ cup
Green chilli – 4ps
Mustard oil - 1tsp

Beaten yogurt - ½ cup
Salt as required
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Mustard oil – 1tbsp
Slitted green chilli – 4ps

Method:
Marinate the fish with little salt & ¼ tsp turmeric powder & 1tsp mustard oil
Take ½ tbsp black mustard seed & ½ tbsp yellow mustard seed & ½ poppy seed are soaked in warm water separately for ½ an hour
Take these in a blender jar after rinsing
Grind these
Add ½ tsp sugar & ½ cup grated coconut & 4ps green chilli
Add 1tbsp water
Make a paste
Paste should be smooth
Take the paste in a bowl
Salt as required
Add ½ tsp turmeric powder & ½ cup beaten yogurt & 1tbsp mustard oil
Mix well
Keep the fish into paste
Smear the fish with paste
Cover & keep for 10 mins
Take a tiffin box & place the fish into the tiffin box
Pour the paste in the container
Spread 1tsp mustard oil over it
Add 4ps slitted green chilli
Place a big pot on oven
Boil water in the pot
Keep a wire stand inside the pot for resting the tiffin box on it
Make the level of water to dip upto half part of tiffin box
Cover & boil on medium flame for 20mins
Switch off the flame & the box is allowed to cool for 20 mins
Ilish bhapa is ready to serve
