When we go to Confession, one of the most important moments is when the priest says the prayer of Absolution. 🙏 But what does that mean?

Absolution is the act by which God, through the priest, forgives our sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The priest raises his hand and says words like: “I absolve you from your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” At that moment, our sins are forgiven, and our friendship with God is restored.
