I finally made it to Hoi An, and I have to say, it’s every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest—maybe even more so when you’re standing in the middle of it.
Hoi An has a fascinating soul. For centuries, it was a major trading port where Chinese, Japanese, and European merchants left their mark. You can still see that blend today in the "Ancient Town," with its iconic yellow-walled merchant houses and unique historical architecture. It’s a place where history isn't just in a museum; you’re literally walking through it.

The "Tourist" Reality & The Charm

I’ll be honest: it is surprisingly touristy. The streets are packed and the "hustle" is real. But once the sun starts to set and the thousands of silk lanterns begin to glow, you realize why everyone comes here. Whether it's the food or just watching the boats on the Hoai River, there’s a specific energy here that’s hard to find anywhere else.
