Charles was someone who would plans months ahead of time to attend a special event for you. He was someone, who, years after seeing him would still randomly send you Christmas cards. He would call me just to see how I was doing years after being married and in another state. He seemed to have more time in the day than an average human being and didn't let his physical disabilities define or hold him back. I am pretty sure he was at least 75% more productive than I am. He taught me that relationships are the most important. He always greeted me, cheered me up when things were hard and followed up with me to see if I was doing better. I wish I did the same for him. He has taught me so much and for that I am eternally grateful. He loves trains so I decided to write a song for him. It's far from perfect but it is how I speak from my heart, through music. I live near lots and lots of trains and I am reminded daily of him and his wonderful example of loving and caring for people. It is a beautiful tender mercy. I look forward to seeing him again.
