Children’s rehabilitation services are constantly struggling with increasing demands and operating costs without increased funding. Innovative ideas and models are required to continue to enhance service delivery for families. Change management strategies must be utilized to successfully implement these ideas. Children’s Treatment Network (CTN), a network of contracted partner organizations in the education, health and community sectors, supports more than 20,000 families in York Region and Simcoe County by providing specialized clinical and rehabilitation services for children and youth with special needs. To enhance services for families, we designed and implemented a new service delivery model for Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) for children with multiple special needs using change management strategies. This webinar will
outline the innovative occupational and physiotherapy service delivery model and change management strategies used to implement it across seven service delivery agencies
review how the service delivery model was designed using evidence and stakeholder engagement to optimize functional outcomes for children with special needs by providing the right intervention, in the right amount, at the right time, in the right location

explain how it is focused on functional needs, ensures family involvement at every level, and emphasizes a coaching approach to therapy
describe how we used change management strategies (e.g., emphasizing the urgency and need to change, building a guiding coalition, engaging stakeholders, and outlining a schedule to achieve short and long term objectives.
