1. Ask yourself if you even need slides. Great presentations come first from your content, voice, and body language.
2. Make your slides last after your presentation is complete. If you use slides to create your speech and organize your ideas, you may need new slides to show the audience.
3. Use one idea per slide.
4. Use large, high-resolution images (see the links above for great image websites)
5. Use fewer words with larger fonts.
6. Numbers are better than bullet points (when you need lists or lines of text)
7. Use builds to control when new content appears on slides
8. Use descriptive headlines that show a graph or chart's main idea
9. Use highlights to focus the audience's eyes on specific areas of graphs and charts
