Sphere India Academy organized the National Consultation on “Resilient Futures: Financing Disaster Risk Reduction in India” on 13th October 2025, to commemorate the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) under the global theme “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters.” The session brought together experts from government, financial institutions, academia, private sector, and civil society to deliberate on innovative approaches to finance disaster risk reduction in India. Discussions focused on strengthening DRR financing priorities, scaling budgetary allocations, leveraging private sector and community-based models, and exploring instruments like catastrophe bonds, risk pooling, and insurance to build a resilient and sustainable future.
