President Jimmy Carter, family arrive in St. Louis (1979)

KSDK reporter Chris Condon called President Jimmy Carter's visit to St. Louis on the Delta Queen "remarkable" as he anchored "St. Louis: The Last Stop," a special report marking the occasion. An estimated crowd of more than 40,000 people greeted the First Family on Aug. 24, 1979, as they ended their 650-mile, 7-day trip from St. Paul, Minnesota, to the Gateway City.
