Yes, you should be aware of how people affect you and move towards positivity and goodness. Yes, perhaps there are times when you should get away from someone who is very negative in your life. Yes, if you want to be the best tennis player in the world, you should obviously be trying to play against the other best tennis players in the world. Have a toxic boyfriend who is a dick? Yes, remove him from your life. However, realize that this typical personal development advice is coming from a very judgmental place. Make sure to be aware of yourself when you judge people, and to do your best to hangout with and learn from everyone! :)

There really is something magical about treating everyone equally, rather than treating people based on their "value".

Hangout with people who you like to hangout with.. regardless of if they are successful or not or however you may judge them.

And if you are hanging out with people who are successful or some other superficial "judgement" you have on them and you realize you don't even like them.. maybe it's time to question why you are hanging out with them.

Sometimes when we create some space and take some time away from someone, we learn later to more appreciate them, and that time away makes the connection even better.
