In today’s November 15 Morning News Update from The Voice Of Victory, we present the latest developments from the southern and eastern fronts of Myanmar.

Mawtaung Town, located in Tanintharyi Township, has been fully captured by resistance forces after months of blockades and intense clashes.
According to local sources, the KNLA-led joint resistance forces launched a final assault beginning on November 11 and successfully overran the last remaining military outpost in Mawtaung on November 14.

Eyewitnesses report that Myanmar military soldiers retreated through the Thai border, using three military trucks, along with weapons and supplies. The Thai authorities have accepted the soldiers but confiscated their weapons. Meanwhile, thousands of civilians fleeing the fighting also crossed toward the Thai side.

Resistance forces are now carrying out territory-clearing operations inside the town, while the Myanmar military continues intense airstrikes, creating ongoing fear and instability for civilians.

KNU Myeik-Tavoy District spokespersons have confirmed the capture of Mawtaung, although detailed ground reports are still incoming. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition were seized during the operation.

The fighting has triggered a major humanitarian crisis, with nearly 3,000 civilians — including the elderly, children, and pregnant women — fleeing from Mawtaung toward the Thai-Myanmar border.

In another tragic development from Karen State’s Hpa-An District, an 18-year-old youth from Sane Kone Village was reportedly abducted, tortured, and stabbed to death by Myanmar military troops.
