Oxford is one of the most famous university-cities not only in Great Britain, but in the world.
The University of Oxford is a unique and historic institution. The exact date of its creation is unknown, but the first scholars are said to
have begun learning there in 1096.
Oxford has given the world about 50 Nobel laureates.

If you have a child or friend who wants to go to Oxford, you're in luck
because you can visit all the colleges on Open Day – for absolutely free! Special tours are held for future students; libraries, chapels and auditoriums are all open. In almost all colleges you can relax, drink tea and even have lunch. We are lucky, because we have a very smart child!

Now we're starting to look at the colleges...

Somerville college – the College where Margaret Thatcher studied.

Balliol College - the College where Boris Johnson studied.
The majority of colleges have very beautiful chapels.
This is where Boris Johnson dined as a student.

Trinity College - many famous people also studied here, but I don’tknow any of them :)
This is a college dormitory.

And here is the famous Bridge of Sighs. We decided to sigh just like Oxford students going to take their exams :)

Andy is finding the optimal route.

Bodleian Library - The UK's second largest library, housing over 11
million books. Founded in 1602

Hertford College - Jonathan Swift studied here.

New College. This college has a very beautiful chapel.

Mansfield College. You can have a snack here :)

Harris Manchester College. This college is very cozy. Here we dined like real Oxford students. And, of course, here you can think about all kinds of things from philosophy to politics while swinging backwards and forwards.

The Queen's College is one of the five richest colleges in Oxford.
Unsurprisingly, there is also a mesmerizing Dining Hall and chapel.
This alley leads to the exit.

Magdalen College is a riverside college. It is also one of the
wealthiest colleges in Oxford. This college even has its own deer park.
And this is the large college courtyard.
And of course, this college has an impressive Great Dining Hall and
chapel, just like other Oxford colleges.

And now we go on to explore the colleges of Oxford …

Christ Church college - as of 2022 - is the richest college in Oxford.
There are 13 British Prime Ministers among its alumni (the highest number of any Oxbridge college).
And, of course, this college is famous for the staircase where Harry Potter was filmed.
Here I am walking down these famous stairs like a Hogwarts student.
Fun fact - The Great Hall of the college actually became the prototype of
the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
And this is a modern student bar.
Christ Church is the only academic institution in the world which is also a cathedral, the seat of the Bishop of Oxford.
Christ Church college is quite large and actually contains a number of architecturally significant buildings.
Christ Church Library contains one of the largest collections of early printed books in Oxford outside the Bodleian Library.
