Today we are going to be making a mai tai that no one else has had the recipe to, well except the creator.

Jason Alexander of Devil’s Reef in Tacoma Washington has graced us with the recipe for the mai tai he serves at his bar, the Officer’s Mai Tai.

So what does a mai tai, a traditional Trader Vic’s cocktail, look like when it’s made by someone with a strong influence from Don the Beachcomber?

Officer’s Mai Tai
1 oz (30 ml) Plantation OFTD
1 oz (30 ml) Plantation Xaymaca
1/2 oz (15 ml) Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao
1/2 oz (15 ml) Orgeat
1/4 oz (15 ml) Don’s Spice #2
1 oz (30 ml) Lime Juice
