I tried this other night - Zwift's new Racing Score system!
In the last race there were cheats, there were sandbaggers and I was recovering from illness.
Today? I'm going to SMASH IT! Lets go!

Rather than the traditional Zwift Categories of A, B, C, D and E; Zwift Labs are getting granular and looking at scoring riders on a scale up to 1,000. Whilst there are still essentially 4 (or 5) categories into which riders will fit , with a score of 725 and above pretty much being what was 'Cat A', the new scoring system will help to determine almost exactly where you are on the ladder - A low scoring Cat B or a rider about to break into Cat A, perhaps?

There is a handy FAQ on the Zwift Support pages as to how your score is calculated, but in summary, the score is made up from:
~ 30second and 10 minute power numbers
~ Recent race results
~ An element of 'Normalisation' of rider Power & Weight

The new 'Categories' based on Score will stack up like this:
~ 725-1000 (Cat A)
~ 575-725 (Cat B)
~ 400-575 (Cat C)
~ 225-400 (Cat D)
~ 0-225 (Cat E)
