Today’s most complex immersive artworks are often understood as the manifestation of
a single artist’s vision. But the finished work is the product of a web of collaborators who
bring this vision to life – much like an orchestra, with the artist acting as both conductor and
musician. We look inside the creative process of Jakob Kudsk Steenson – who builds entire
universes by working closely with scientists, composers, musicians and writers – and two of his
closest collaborators. Do their ideas enhance his work, or transform it?
