Did I hit my 2022 fitness goals?

I wanted to improve my overall athletism and strength by training for 10 Muscle-ups, 10 HSPUs, a 10-second One-Arm Handstand, Middle Splits and Toes to Hand in a Backbend (I also had many sub goals under my main goals).

🤯My proudest moment was definitely going from 0 dynamic muscle ups to 10 in a row! Should I make a follow up YouTube video on this? I already have my 3 month transformation on there.

💪🏼Don’t let this highlight reel fool you. I spend an estimated 70-80% of my training doing monotonous variations of the basics, which include push-ups, pull-ups, rows, dips, core, mobility and the occasional hip thrust. Then about 20% of the time, I explore the strength I created through movement and play.

🤸🏽‍♀️I didn’t achieve an OAH (one arm handstand) as it’s a skill that needs significantly more time than I allotted. However, the training did increase my body awareness and shoulder elevation strength, which improved many other skills.

🤗Handstand push-ups became much easier, but I have yet to test my max. When I checked in the summer, I was at 7 with strict form, nose to the ground.

🧘🏽‍♀️More to come on middle splits in a few weeks...

🗓️Overall, setting long-term goals, gives structure and purpose to your training. I’m actually still working on the skill that got me into calisthenics in the first place.
