Big Weakfish Using a Simple Rig (No Bait Necessary)!!!!

For years, weakfish were a staple of the waters here in Long Island. I close relative of the speckled trout caught in Florida, weakfish fight hard and are relatively easy to catch.

This mid-May trip on my old boat, the Sea Vee (thank you Andy for the invite) produced a LOT of quality weakfish. Like much of May so far, however, the weather sucked and we made this a very short trip! We got fish on every drift and Andy had two quality ones pushing 6 pounds.
