Kolkata Doctor Case: Supreme Court Will Hear The Suo Motu Petition On October 1| Capital TV

The Supreme Court on Monday said it will hear on October 1 a suo motu petition on the rape and murder of a resident doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital amid ongoing protests by doctors in West Bengal. The lawyer appearing for one of the parties requested the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala that the suo motu case listed for hearing on September 27 be heard next week due to some urgent reasons. The CJI said, "We will list it for hearing on next Tuesday i.e. October 1."
