The time to be investing in electric vehicles is now, and there are many ways to do it. One of the stocks I'm most interested in is Volta Charging, an electric vehicle charging station business set to merge with Tortoise Acquisition Corp 2 ($SNPR).

Volta Charging plans to capitalize on the disruption coming to the gas and fueling industry. Not only are EVs going to disrupt gas and oil, but also how we refuel our vehicles. People won't be driving to gas stations or "charging sites" to refuel - they'll be charging their vehicles wherever they already go.

So, Volta Charging is focused on installing charging stations in high-volume retail settings - areas where consumers already spend their time. This will maximize their charging station usage, and will even extend benefits to local retailers.

Volta's advantage is its patented screen display, which allows them to monetize through advertisements, data and EV charging.

1. Advertisements allow businesses to reach consumers in a brand new way. Advertising on Volta charging stations has been highly effective, boosting sales and brand awareness significantly. Volta is the only company offering this new advertising platform so far!
2. Volta will collect data on both the EV charging consumption and consumer habits. They can use this data to improve the efficacy of advertising campaigns, expand their charging network, or simply sell the data to someone else.
3. Volta actually offers FREE charging - it may sound crazy, but it might just work. Free charging encourages both EV drivers and retailers to choose Volta over competitors. Volta can then make up for the cost of free charging with additional charging usage and advertising revenue, giving it a multi-faceted revenue profile.

Overall, I think Volta is an attractive option because of how it sets itself apart as an advertising business. By focusing on concentrated retail settings, they're maximizing the ROI of each charging station to achieve better profitability than most businesses in the charging station space. I think they're a worthy pick in the EV boom.

Volta's Valuation
Compared to EVgo and Chargepoint, Volta is grossly undervalued. I'll walk you through all the math in my video, but I believe that if Volta was trading at valuations similar to these businesses, it would be trading over $30 per share.

Personally, I'll be building a position in Volta until it approaches the price targets discussed in the video. I'll be looking to lock in some profits over $30.

I'm not sure if Volta will be a long-term hold for me, since there is still so much room for disruption and new businesses in the EV charging space. That said, I'll be monitoring Volta closely to see how it continues to develop and define itself as an EV charging station business.
