Dolpo Region of Nepal where ancient Tibetan Traditions are Still Alive. Dolpo is an ethno-culturally Tibetan region in Nepal, where ancient Tibetan traditions and culture still flourishes. The Dolpo Shey Festival is most reflective of vibrant Tibetan cultural performances and ancient rituals. Few places in the world today allow people to witness traditional dances and masked performances dating back centuries. The festival occurs in the Dragon year of every 12-year cycle, and the Dolpo Culture Society plans to invite leaders of Tibetan Buddhist traditions for this year’s celebration.
