Karnataka is a pioneer and exemplary model in the governance of ICT in India. In 1978, our government set up the Karnataka Government Computer Center. Since then, we have been adopting technology in all government functions. Karnataka was the first state in India to adopt an attendance monitoring system using technology in the early 80s. In 2003, Karnataka set up a separate e-Governance Secretariat for the first time in India. In 2005, we set up the Centre for e-Governance. e-Governance division, which is part of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms. These resources have helped the rapid digitization of government functions. For example, #Bhoomi #Khajane #Kaveri #eprocurement are some major initiatives that received national and international recognition, says EV Ramana Reddy, adding that the mantra of Karnataka for industrial development is to run industry-friendly policies in collaboration with industry vision groups, running more than 20 years. #ETDIGITECH
