Jagan starts talking (reading statement) NATURAL SOUND: "We were shocked and still at a loss to understand the action of the British Government in sending military and naval forces to British Guiana and suspending the constitution and dismissing the democratically elected ministers of the government." SV reporters writing (for the following question) "Will you tell us about the connections you allegedly have behind the Iron Curtain?" CU Jagan starts speaking: "I have been there only once and that was for a Youth Festival. That is the only connection I have behind the Iron Curtain". SV newsreel cameramen (for the following question). "How do you feel about Mau Mau. Perhaps you would say?" CU Jagan starts speaking: "Mau-Mau is a terrorist organisation and we do not support terrorism. But I would say that the people in Kenya and in other parts have their problems, many problems, which have been created by British Imperialism and these problems will have to be solved."
